Vancouver joins Walk A Mile in Her Shoes to Support Ending Violence!
Walk A Mile in Her Shoes® will take place in Toronto, but White Ribbon Campaign friends and supporters in Vancouver wanted to step-up and help support the White Ribbon Campaign as well.
So a few individuals have asked if they could walk the walk in Vancouver! Our response was yes – what a great idea!
Vancouver participants are encouraged to register as part of team Vancouver Satellite Walk A Mile in Her Shoes and collect pledges, tell their friends and family they are participating in the event but from a unique Vancouver location – then come out on walk day and walk the walk.
Vancouver Location and Timing:

October 1st, 2009
TIME CHANGE: 4:30pm - 6:30pm (NOT as originally stated from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm)
Meet at 4:30pm on the corner of Davie and Granville
Walking along Granville all the way to Waterfront Station
After walk get together at Steamworks (375 Water St.) for those that are interested

Men & Women - Take Up The Challenge Together!
White Ribbon is encouraging men and women to participate in this unique event. For men this event is a chance to show the women in your life that you understand first hand how difficult it can be to walk in their shoes. For women, we encourage you to register and walk as well, providing moral support, while at the same time helping to raise necessary funds for the White Ribbon Campaign! Walk side by side in support of a future without violence.
Are You Up For the Challenge?
Stiletto or pump, flat or sling back, patent leather or leopard print or even flip flops - you decide. All that matters is that you come out, ready to strut your stuff. With your fellow supporters, come out and walk the mile in another person’s shoes as a statement to show that Vancouver cares. Together, we are working toward ending violence against women and girls.
How Can You Help?
- Register today as a walker and start collecting pledges!
- Share this email message with friends and family! Ask them to register. Join the Vancouver Team and raise funds together!
- Talk to your employer to form a team together - the walk provides an excellent opportunity for community involvement.
- We always welcome sponsors to help us offset the costs of producing the event; ask your company to become a sponsor.
- Volunteer - We can always use a helping hand - if you are interested in volunteering at this event, please contact Alexis Morgan.
The White Ribbon Campaign receives no core funding and thus our work is supported by you our donors and by the funds we raise on our own through special events like Walk A Mile in Her Shoes®.
